First off, we have the D-Link DCS-6101LH Compact Full HD WIFI Camera. It’s manufactured by the Taiwanese company D-Link, which specializes in networking and communications products such as media players and surveillance cameras.

The D-Link DCS-6101LH is a great start to this list, as it’s an all-in-one, compact device that will provide a high level of protection to your home.

It’s equipped with a 1080p HD camera that is able to record a wide, 110-degree field of view. This camera’s night vision mode will also allow you to see up to 5m even in total darkness, a built-in microphone, and enhanced sound and motion detection as well.

What we love most about the D-Link DCS-6101LH are its connectivity features. It’s a WIFI-ready unit, so you can save your footage to the cloud and download footage to your device from anywhere, as long as you’re connected to the internet.

You can also receive updates to your mobile through the camera’s triggered alerts and send in commands through Alexa or Google Assistant. The D-Link DCS-6101LH also comes with a free D-Link app that allows you to configure the device.

However, connecting this camera to a computer is challenging, as it’s a more “app-based” device compared to older D-Link models. And although its WIFI features are fantastic, it may have some reconnecting issues, especially with poor signal.

There is also no way to turn off its motion-detecting feature, so it isn’t best for high-traffic environments. Still, we think that the D-Link DCS-6101LH provides great surveillance and smart features – at a very affordable price, too.

Beijing brand Xiaomi is another popular tech giant that manufactures anything from mobile phones, flashlights, to smart home appliances like the Xiaomi Mi Wireless Outdoor Security Camera.

It’s a unit that best suits the outdoors as it is able to weather extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 50 degrees. It can also capture more area with a 130-degree wide-angle and in 1080p resolution, too.

It’s also one of the best night cameras, as its WDR (wide dynamic range) technology allows it to record up to 7m even in complete darkness. Additionally, one indoor receiver can support up to four outdoor cameras, making sure that you have no blind spots.

What makes the Xiaomi Mi Wireless Outdoor Security Camera unique is that it supports wire-free installation and use – you simply have to set it up, scan the QR code on the receiver through the Mi Home app, and scan the outdoor cameras to finish pairing.

For storage options, the indoor receiver has an ethernet port, USB port, TF card slot, and a USB-C port. It also allows for 3-day rolling cloud storage in case your main storage option maxes out on space.

Unfortunately, its advertised 90-day long battery life isn’t very accurate. It can run low on battery within 20 days, so we advise that its components be kept plugged in constantly instead.

And similar to the D-Link DCS-6101LH, it also has some connectivity issues in areas with a weak signal, so you can’t always rely on its 3-day rolling cloud storage feature. 

It’s also very expensive, and we’re not sure if the unit’s few upgraded aspects can justify its price when compared to other units on the list. 

But if you’re looking to splurge on a wireless, easy-to-use surveillance system, then the Xiaomi Mi Wireless Outdoor Security Camera could be worth a shot.

If you’re a busy person and you don’t want to bother thinking about charging your camera batteries, then you’ll be ecstatic to hear about the Hamrol 1080P Wireless Solar Powered IP Camera.

This camera is powered by built-in 4400mAh rechargeable batteries that are powered by its mini solar panels. This makes it perfect for outdoor areas, but not much for dark and indoor areas.

Its surveillance capabilities are also impressive – it can produce clear 1080p footage during the day and record up to 15 meters of footage at night. This camera also has an IP66 waterproof rating, which allows it to work even in extreme temperatures.

It’s also one of the few cameras equipped with a two-way intercom and dual WIFI antennas. This allows you to communicate through long distances via your iCsee app, even from inside your house.

We also appreciate the iCsee app is compatible with both iOS and Android. However, it’s incompatible with PCs – you’ll only be able to use it through an emulator, which is quite the hassle.

Another downside to the Hamrol 1080P Wireless Solar Powered IP Camera is that it doesn’t support 24-hour recording, and will only record when an alarm occurs. You can still watch your camera’s footage on mobile anytime, however.

We still think that the Hamrol 1080P Wireless Solar Powered IP Camera is well worth the investment, especially if you want a plug-and-play type of surveillance system that you don’t need to worry about.

Another capable entry on our list is the SriHome SH024 Wifi CCTV, which is one of the best-selling CCTV cameras online. It can be used both wireless and wired, which provides versatility to its users.

The SriHome SH024 Wifi CCTV has one of the most impressive surveillance capabilities, with a capture resolution of 1296P at 25fps and almost 48ft of night footage.

Like the Hamrol 1080P Wireless Solar Powered IP Camera, it also has an IP66 professional waterproof rating, so it can be used indoors and outdoors no matter the weather.

It also has an advanced zone detection feature that allows you to set customized motion detection zones and a privacy masking feature that will allow you to mark up to four areas that are set to private.

Unfortunately, we have a few complaints when it comes to its controls and connectivity. You can only access the camera if you’re on the same router, which can pose a problem for homes that use two or more.

The SriHome app is also a little difficult to navigate, and there’s also no way to adjust the microphone volume. You’d also have to record playbacks manually, as there’s no way to automatically download footage.

That said, we’re also not pleased about its hefty price tag, but it’s a very customizable plug-and-play camera that offers useful customization.

So if the Hamrol 1080P Wireless Solar Powered IP Camera offers the features you’re looking for, then it’s worth the investment.

Finally, we have the Tenda Home Smart WiFi Security Camera that garnered a stellar 5/5 rating on both Shopee and Lazada. The best part is that it’s also very affordable.

The main feature of the Tenda Home Smart WiFi Security Camera is its 360-degree horizontal surveillance ability. It can also turn 90 degrees up and 65 degrees down, making it one of the most wide-ranged cameras on this list.

Similar to the Hamrol 1080P Wireless Solar Powered IP Camera, it’s equipped with a real-time two-way intercom function that enables you to chat with your family anytime and anywhere.

The app also has several useful features such as a scheduled patrol, panoramic patrol, and customized voice alerts. It’s also very easy to navigate even if you aren’t tech-savvy, which is a big plus.

The camera unit on the other hand has active light and sound alarms when it senses intruders and will send alerts to your mobile. In terms of storage, you can opt to install an SD card on it or store your footage in the cloud. 

It’s also one of the smallest and most compact cameras on this list, so it can be installed anywhere from tables, walls, and ceilings. The power cord it comes with is only three meters, however, so you might want a longer one or opt to charge the unit often instead.

The camera’s auto-targeting and tracking abilities also kick in a little bit slow, but it still does what’s expected of it and tracks motion from all angles. 

Despite these, the Tenda 360°1080P Pan/Tilt Home Smart WiFi Security Camera is still one of our favorite entries as an affordable yet efficient CCTV camera.
