Pros
- Easy to use and set up
- Can print from your phone
Cons
- Limited sizing
- Actual printer, ink, and special paper are expensive
If you’re serious about scrapbooking and having important photographs printed for the home, we recommend the Canon Selphy CP1300.
The Canon Selphy CP1300 is a compact, high quality photo printer. It’s a wireless printer unit that you can connect to your phone, laptop, camera, or tablet over WiFi, SD card backup, or via USB.
It has a nice, sleek build that resembles a digital clock.
The Selphy CP1300 makes glossy, high-resolution, postcard-sized prints. The print quality is excellent and sharp, and the printer uses dye sublimation instant technology, which makes the photos dry instantly upon printout.
Upon printing, your photos are also covered in protective film, making your prints waterproof and free from fingerprint smudges.
What we love about this printer is how purchasing it means you have a portable photo printer at your fingertips. You can print postcard-sized photos wherever you want and anytime you want–––as long as you have an outlet within reach or a battery to spare!
The downside to getting the Canon Selphy CP1300 is that your print-outs will be limited to postcard-sized prints. Aside from this, the actual printer unit and ink cartridges are on the expensive side.
A cartridge of Canon Selphy consumable RP-108 and KP-108 ink costs about 1,500 Php each. Ideally, you can purchase your ink cartridge with postcard-size sheets of paper to cover all your Selphy printing needs.

Pros
- Multifunction printer
- Energy Star certified
- Uses PrecisionCore technology for fast and quality printing
- Ink is cheaper
Cons
- Most expensive unit we reviewed
- No automatic document feeder
- Can’t print over WiFi or Bluetooth
If you’re planning on regularly doing some high-volume printing for your home office, we recommend you check out the Epson EcoTank Monochrome M2140. It’s a multi-function printer built sturdy but gives you enough space to fit it on your desk.
This Epson model is Energy Star-certified and uses PrecisionCore Technology to generate high-quality images at fast printing speeds. It provides you with a printing speed of 39 pages per minute and supports duplex or back-to-back page printing.
The EcoTank uses pigment ink that produces sharp, laser-quality text.
Genuine pigment ink is smudge-proof and water resistant––best part is, the Epson 005 printer ink only goes for 500 Php retail price, and these ink bottles can last you over 6,000 pages!
With it being a multifunction printer, you can also scan and photocopy documents on the EcoTank M2140.
However, apart from being the most expensive unit we reviewed, the downside to the Epson EcoTank M2140 is that it lacks an automatic document feeder (ADF) which is usually standard for bulk printing jobs.
It also has no option for you to print over WiFi or Bluetooth, so its advertisement as a high-power office printer may be questionable. We see this more as a sturdy printer for personal or home office use.

Pros
- All-in-one printer
- Decent print speed and capacity
- Easy to install
Cons
- Only genuine HP ink can be used
- Printer software has to be updated regularly
It has a decent print speed of 7.5 pages per minute for black and white, and 5.5 pages per minute for colored. It can print up to 1,000 pages per month, so it’s a pretty powerful device!
It comes in a light sage color, which is refreshing to the eyes and would look great at home. The HP Deskjet 2777 can print wirelessly over WiFi. You can also enjoy an easy installation process for it by downloading the HP software online for free.
This is a great home printer for students, as it has all-in-one functionality as a printer, scanner, and copier. The photocopy feature can do it in either color or black and white.
What we love about HP printers is that genuine HP ink cartridges create clear text and vibrant colors to your print-outs. This printer uses HP 682 ink, and their black and white and tri-color bundle costs about 1,200 Php.
On the flipside, what’s not-so-great about it is that HP ink cartridges are reputedly expensive, and it’s not possible to buy cheaper alternatives. Their printers have a chip that detects if you’re using counterfeit cartridges, so you won’t be able to use them.
Do take note that your HP printer also needs its software to be updated regularly. Otherwise, booting up and using the printer will take longer because of all the updates it still has to download.

Pros
- Small and portable
- Easy to use
- Can print a variety of things
- Low-noise
Cons
- Only prints black and white
- Small size
- Ink fades over time
If you’re looking for a small, compact printer for daily use and projects like to-do list and label making, the perfect fit for you is the PeriPage Mini Printer.
This mini printer is very easy to use. All you need to do is download the PeriPage app on your phone, so you can wirelessly connect and print on the device.
This pocket printer is ideal for DIY enthusiasts and crafters. You can print out sticker labels, small notes, barcodes and QR codes, a banner, and a webpage among others.
It offers a variety of fonts and themes that you can choose from to design and stylize your photos.
It uses thermal printing technology and thus requires no ink at all. The PeriPage’s heat printing tech makes printing faster and more energy-efficient as well.
Another thing we like about this printer is that it barely makes any noise when printing things.
While it seems very versatile, this handy gadget has its own limitations. For one thing, the PeriPage Mini Printer can only print things in black and white.
It’s also small, so it can’t print full-sized documents for school or office needs. Aside from this, thermal printers may fade over time, like receipts do, after a few years.
With that being said, the PeriPage Mini Printer is best for printing labels for short-term use.

Pros
- Sharp and clear print quality
- High-volume printing
- Has variety of paper sizes and handling varieties
- Ink doesn’t run out quickly
Cons
- Expensive ink cartridge when replaced
- Not compatible with MacOS
One of the best printers we reviewed that offers good value for money is the Canon Pixma G1010 printer. You can connect to it via USB or wirelessly over WiFi network connection.
It’s a very reliable printer that can handle your documents efficiently with sharp and clear print quality. The Canon Pixma G1010 has a print speed of 8.8 pages per minute for black and white, and 5 pages per minute for colored.
The best thing about the Canon Pixma printer is that aside from its high-volume printing capacity, it can also accommodate a variety of paper sizes. It can print on A4, letter, and legal size.
The Pixma can also handle different paper varieties from plain paper, high-resolution paper, and photo paper whether glossy or matte.
Another thing we love about the Canon Pixma G1010 is that its ink doesn’t run out quickly. If you need to refill the ink, however, you must know that its ink cartridges are expensive, at about 2,000 Php should you need to have them replaced.
The less expensive option is buying the ink refill, which can cost you somewhere between 400 to 800 Php online, and manually refilling the tank yourself.
Another downside to this Canon Pixma model is that it’s not compatible with MacOS. You’ll have to have a Windows computer to do any kind of printing on this device.
