Pros

  • Has 6 built-in stitches
  • Has a free arm
  • Heavy duty frame
  • Easy to use
  • Precise stitching
  • Can sew thick fabrics on it

Cons

  • Preset stitches are basic
  • Less intuitive 4-step buttonhole

If you’re looking for an affordable and reliable sewing machine to get stitching, we highly recommend the Singer M1505.

The Singer M1505 is a free-arm sewing machine with automatic bobbin winding. It also has snap on pressure feet and an extra high pressure foot lifter.

It’s built with a heavy duty metal frame, but at the same time, is light and portable enough to carry around or get the job done in a small creative nook in your home.

This machine has 6 built-in stitches: 4 basic stitches, 1 decorative stitch, and 1 buttonhole stitch. It can go up to 850 stitches per minute, and is capable of sewing thick materials.

What we love about this sewing machine is that it makes the sewing experience more precise and accurate, since you can preset its stitch length and width.

It’s a great tool for beginners because its basic stitches are pre-programmed into the machine, so you can start your next sewing project without delay!

The only downside to this sewing machine is that its preset stitches are basic, compared to the other sewing machines we reviewed. Apart from this, its 4-step buttonhole, while handy, is less intuitive and rather tricky to use.

Pros

  • Durable model
  • Beginner-friendly
  • Has 14 stitches to choose from
  • Has a free-arm
  • Toploading bobbin

Cons

  • Slower machine than others on this list
  • Can’t sew thick fabrics on it

The Brother JV1400 is one of the best electronic sewing machines in the market. It’s a durable model, and ideal for beginners who want to learn the basics of using a sewing machine.

Despite its sturdy build, the JV1400 is a lightweight model you can easily transport from your work table to the storage cabinet.

Once you start sewing, you’ll notice the machine has a bright LED sewing light that helps you see your work better.

You’ll also find that this model from Brother can automatically preset stitch length and width, with 14 built-in stitches and a 4-step buttonhole.

The JV1400 is perfect for sewing and repairing clothes. Its build makes your sewing versatile, as you can go from a flatbed to a free-arm machine to work on cuffs and sleeves with ease.

What we love about this model from Brother is that it has a toploading bobbin. This makes it easier to set up, to see your progress as you sew, and to clean up the machine after.

The downside to the JV1400 is that it’s slower than the other sewing machines we reviewed, as it can only go about 750 stitches per minute.

You also can’t sew thick fabrics like jeans on this machine, which is a bummer because its additional features would’ve been great for repairing denim jeans and the like.

Pros

  • Heavy-duty
  • Strong motor
  • Can sew thick material like denim
  • Has snap-on presser feet
  • Top drop-in bobbin

Cons

  • Most expensive
  • Has no hard case

If you’re looking for a heavy-duty sewing machine that can handle a big job, we’ll recommend the Singer HD6335M.

The Singer HD6335M is a full-sized sewing machine that would make a perfect addition to your hobby corner that you’d likely find at a tailor or seamstress’ shop.

It has an automatic needle threader, a durable metal frame, a stainless steel bedplate, and a strong motor that can handle even the thickest fabrics and textiles.

The HD6335M can do up to 1,100 stitches per minute on its highest speed setting, which makes it one of the most efficient sewing machine models in the market.

With this Singer model, the possibilities are endless. It has 32 key stitches to choose from, and a one-step buttonhole as well.

It has snap-on presser feet and a top drop-in bobbin, which makes it easy for you to see at a glance how much thread you still have.

What we love about this sewing machine is that it’s best for designing and repairing jeans, as it’s capable of piercing thick denim fabrics and fixing hems. Most of the other sewing machines we reviewed aren’t capable of sewing on denim.

The downside to this sewing machine is its price, as it’s the most expensive sewing machine we tried at 14,950 Php retail price. It also lacks a hard case, so it’s not the best choice if you want a portable unit to bring around to different places.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Cheap price
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Has a foot pedal, extension table
  • Has automatic thread rewind function
  • Has 8 built-in stitches

Cons

  • Limited stitching options
  • Can’t sew thicker fabrics on it

If you’re looking for a unit to break you into the habit of sewing your own things or practicing with an electric sewing machine, we recommend getting the white and purple Keimav 505A.

The Keimav 505A is very easy to use and set up. It’s a terrific, mini sewing machine that comes at a cheap price, is lightweight and portable enough to carry around everywhere!

It has a handy foot pedal switch which connects to the main body of the sewing machine for ease of use. After plugging it in and connecting the pedal, you just need to feed your bobbin into the machine, then you’re ready to sew.

Another thing we love about the Keimav 505A is that it comes with an extension table and an automatic thread rewind function.

You can use the On/Off button on the side of the sewing machine to wind thread onto the bobbin with ease. The 505A has 8 built-in stitches, and two speed settings for efficient sewing.

All this at less than 300 Php seems like such a steal, but the downsides to getting the Keimav are its limited stitching options, and the fact that you cannot sew thicker fabrics on it.

The 3223 has really cute variations and is sure to brighten up your creative space with its vibrant colors in either raspberry or aqua.

It’s a free-arm model which has a well-built frame, an easily adjustable presser foot, and automatic bobbin windings. All of these are important features when investing in a good sewing machine.
