Cons
- Expensive

If you’re looking for a reliable set of headphones that gives you all you need and more, we recommend investing in the expensive yet highly acclaimed Sony WH-1000XM4.
The WH-1000XM4 has a foldable design, with soft padding on the earcups. These headphones are extremely comfortable, we wouldn’t mind keeping it on for most of the day!
These over-ear earphones make the ideal work-from-home or hybrid setup companion. They are touch sensitive headphones that control playback and volume, and what we love about it is that its microphone is perfect for video calls.
These Sony headphones also have BlueTooth multipoint connectivity. This means that you can connect your headphones to two devices at once, which makes it handy for transitioning from task to task and gadget to gadget.
One minute you could be taking a video call on your laptop, and then the next, you can play music on your phone. You can enjoy up to 30 hours of playback on this pair.
These Sony headphones have active noise cancellation technology with the HD noise-canceling processor QN1.
It also has adaptive sound control that adjusts based on your surroundings, which makes them a great pick for a working person on-the-go. It even has an auto-pause feature that detects when you take off your headphones.
Aside from this, the WH-1000XM4 also has a speak to chat feature where the headphones detect when you’re speaking, so it pauses the music for you.
Down the line this could get annoying if you’re just clearing your throat or muttering to yourself, so if you’re not keen on it, don’t bother.

Pros
- Customizable sound quality
- Commendable battery life
- Great noise-cancellation settings
Cons
- Bulky and not very aesthetic
- Leaks audio at a high volume
- Not water-resistant
If you’re looking for high-quality noise cancellation paired with terrific battery life, we insist you check out the Soundcore Life Q30.
These over-ear headphones from Anker use Bluetooth 5.0 and can go up to 40 hours of non-stop music playback, with strong bass and a full, booming, sound profile. It uses Hi-Res Audio which can go up to a frequency of 40kHz, ensuring high-quality sound.
Through its companion app, Anker Soundcore, you can edit and customize presets to your preferred listening.
What we love the most about this Anker model is that it’s a significantly cheaper unit that offers active noise-cancellation.
It offers great noise-cancellation features in three settings: Transport, Indoor, and Outdoor mode.
The Soundcore Life Q30 build is primarily made of plastic and aluminum, and it comes with a hard carrying case.
They’re actually very comfortable but kind of bulky-looking on your head, which might deter you from bringing them around everywhere.
You can bring it with you to the gym but we don’t recommend it for long fitness activities as it doesn’t have ratings for dust and water resistance.
It also leaks audio at high volumes, meaning if you’re playing loud music in a quiet room, there’s a chance people can hear what you’re listening to.

Pros
- Well-built and very comfortable
- Best microphone for recording
- Well-balanced sound profile
- Has Discord certification
- XBox One-compatible
Cons
- May fit snugly, depending on the user
- Poor noise isolation
If you’re a gamer and a musician who likes to record from home, we highly recommend the SteelSeries Arctis 9X for your personal use.
At first look they are an understated pair of matte black headphones, but the Arctis 9X has a great, very durable build.
Their over-ear earpads are exceptionally comfortable because they’re made of soft memory foam, and the headphones use an elastic suspension for the headband so you hardly feel any tension around your head.
In terms of sound quality, the Arctis 9X has a neutral, generally well-balanced sound profile. What we particularly love about this model is its microphone.
It has a ClearCast bidirectional microphone with enhanced noise suppression. You can record with it if you like making covers because the recorded voice and sound is very natural.
Aside from this, the SteelSeries Engine software it comes with provides users with lots of customization features to maximize overall gaming experience.
The SteelSeries has Xbox Wireless Technology, which is great for gamers and works best with the XBox One. If you frequent Discord, you’ll be happy to know that this pair of headphones has Discord certification as well.
As for the drawbacks of this model, some users may find that it fits snugly or a little tight, so we recommend testing it for personal comfort before making a purchase.
We also think these headphones are best for use at home because it has poor noise isolation compared to the other ones in our review.

Pros
- Stellar battery life
- Lightweight and easy to bring around
- Clear microphone
- Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant
Cons
- Limited noise cancellation features
- Buttons are difficult to distinguish
Jabra is an industry name in creating quality audio devices, and their wireless headphones are no exception.
The Jabra Elite 45H is perfect for whole-day use, whether you’re soundtripping or taking calls throughout the day.
These on-ear headphones are foldable and very lightweight, ideal for anyone on the go. They also come in multiple, classic colorways from black, navy blue, and beige to suit your style preference.
It’s got stellar battery life, and it only takes an hour and 30 minutes to fully charge it for 50 hours of use.
The Elite 45H has 2 microphones, so you’re sure to be audible even with background noise. We like how its Bluetooth connectivity is virtually seamless, and the unit is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant.
The downsides to this model are that it has limited noise cancellation features, and that
its control buttons can be difficult to distinguish.
The right earcup has its power/pairing button, pause/play button, and volume buttons on both sides of the headphones. As such, it’ll be annoying if you just want to turn down the volume and end up skipping to the next track.
Those hiccups aside, wireless headphones are generally expensive, and in our book this pair from Jabra is still a quality budget choice.
5. Logitech G733 Lightspeed

Pros
- Best for gaming
- Comes in multiple colorways
- Comfortable fit
- Highly customizable sound profile
Cons
- Not portable
- Poor noise cancellation
- Not ideal for commute and athletic activities
We made sure to have a flashy and popular set of gaming headphones in our review, and what made the shortlist was the G733 Lightspeed from Logitech.
The G733 Lightspeed has an edgy design in multiple colorways, from white, purple, and blue to a funky lilac, yellow and green variant. It has a dual-zone Lightsync RBG light setup with 16.8 million colors you can choose from and customize.
This has a remarkably comfortable fit for gamers, with ear cups having dual-layer memory foam. The headphones have a highly customizable sound profile.
In terms of sound quality, the headphones provide you with voice filters and surround sound. This would be perfect for FPS games where the direction of the sounds matter for advantage in-game.
We also love that the G733 has minimal latency or lag when playing, and that it provides you with 29 hours of battery life. It also has a PRO-G driver which is great for clear in-game communication.
The not-so-great things about this pair of Logitech headphones are that they scream “gaming headphones” and aren’t the sleekest or most portable.
The G733’s won’t be ideal for commuters or gym rats, as they lack the compactness and build resistance to elements like water and dust. Lastly, they have little to no noise cancellation features, which definitively limit them to at-home use.
