Kingston USB flash drives are known for their high-quality devices that offer great value for money. Kingston Technology storage devices are manufactured in California, Taiwan, and China.
The more popular Kingston USBs have sleek designs with a built-in key ring, which makes it easy to bring with you wherever you go.
This brand also offers a good number of storage options from 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512 GB, and even 1TB USBs.
Its USB lines include the Kingston DataTraveler and Kingston IronKey.
With a 1,000MB/s read speed and 900MB/S write speed, its Kingston DataTraveler Max is actually one of the most powerful USB flash drives in the market.
Kingston flash drives support USB 3.2 connection. It makes data transfer over 10 times faster than USB 2.0, and the moment you plug it into your computer it’ll recognize the device right away without having to use additional software to set it up.
Another thing we love about Kingston USBs is that they are compatible across multiple platforms from Windows to Mac, and Linux to Chrome OS.
The only thing we would nitpick about the Kingston USB brand is that its older models have a write speed that is very slow compared to its reading speed.
Aside from this, their standard line flash drives don’t offer any security features like data encryption and password protection.

Acquired by Western Digital in 2016, SanDisk is one of the best-known USB and storage device manufacturers worldwide. They make memory cards and card readers, SSDs or solid state drives, and of course, USB flash drives.
Sandisk USB flash drives are reputed to be very reliable and offer very good value for money. Among most of the brands we reviewed, Sandisk offers the lowest prices.
Sandisk also offers a wide range of storage choices from 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, to 128GB, 256GB, 512 GB, and 1TB.
One of their best models is the Ultra SDDD3 which is also called an OTG or on-the-go flash drive. Buying a Sandisk OTG would be perfect if you’re hoping to do quick transfers from your phone to your PC or laptop and vice versa.
It has a micro-USB connector and a USB 3.0 connector, making it compatible with other OTG devices like Android phones and tablets.
One thing we love about the Sandisk USB brand is its excellent performance in terms of speed.
This flash drive has the lowest discrepancy between reading and writing speed from all the flash drives we’ve reviewed.
A 32GB UltraSDDD3 has a 150MB/s reading speed and an almost as powerful 130MB/s writing speed, so you can only imagine what their top-of-the-line models can offer.
To manage your USB flash drive’s content and storage, you can use the SanDisk Memory Zone software from the Google Play store.
The downside to the Sandisk brand is that some models have their flash drive’s write speed slowing down after a while, especially when transferring big files.
Aside from this, most of its USBs are made of plastic or come off as cheap material in comparison to other USB brands.
3. Transcend

Score consistency | 4.7/5 |
Build | 4/5 |

• Reading Speed | 4/5 |
• Writing Speed | 5/5 |

Pros
- Decent pricing
- Good performance
- Has many storage offerings
- Uses USB 3.1
Cons
- Sustained write speed is fast but not consistent
- Not all models have a functional indicator light as advertised
If you’re looking for a fast-writing USB flash drives at a good price, we recommend the Transcend brand.
Transcend USB flash drives are manufactured in both Taiwan and China, and their company specializes in all kinds of memory products.
Transcend offers both USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 Gen 1 connection interfaces, and the latter packs a lot of power in a small storage device.
Its standard line is the Transcend Jetflash. Its build is primarily of plastic, but they use either caps or sliders to protect the actual flash drive.
They make use of nice, eye-catching pastel colors that make you feel like your USB is especially yours.
The Transcend JetFlash models are available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB capacity.
Based on our speed review, the Transcend USBs generally showed good performance.
In terms of compatibility, its system requirements are Windows 7 or later, MacOS 9.0 or later, and Linux Kernel 2.4.2 or later.
One of the flaws of the Transcend brand is its sustained write speed, which is not the most consistent. It may slow down as well if the files you’re transferring are large.
Another hiccup with the Transcend build is its indicator light. The models that feature indicator lights don’t always blink when in use, thus not all models have a functional indicator light on the flash drive as advertised.
4. Hewlett-Packard
Shopee Reviews Score | 4.7/5 |
Lazada Reviews Score | 4.8/5 |
Total Reviews | 4/5 |
Score consistency | 4.75/5 |
Build | 5/5 |
Storage Options | 5/5 |
Performance | 2.5/5 |
• Reading Speed | 3/5 |
• Writing Speed | 2/5 |
Compatibility | 4/5 |
Pros
- Economical prices
- Slim, modern design with dust-proof build
- Has wide range of storage options
Cons
- Overall performance could be better
- Only compatible with Windows and MacOS
Hewlett-Packard (HP) is one of, if not the biggest brand for computer technology and print production. We know all about their line of laptops, printers, and all-in-one or multifunction office equipment.
Its product portfolio has also expanded into data storage, and its USB flash drives should not be overlooked.
In spite of the prestige of the HP brand, you’ll find that its 32GB USB flash drives can come at an economical price of less than 150 Php!
In terms of build, HP USBs have a slim, modern design that’s built to last.
Their most popular models resemble a shiny silver whistle because of their metal body and clip-on design, and its interface is dustproof, shockproof, and waterproof.
Its storage options range from model to model, with some going from 16GB to 64GB, 32GB to 256GB, and 128GB to 512GB or 1TB.
HP offers models with USB 2.0 to USB 3.2. Comparing these 2.0 and 3.2 models matter because of the quickness of file transfers.
Our criticism for the HPb brand is in terms of overall performance, its USB’s writing speeds could be a lot better. When put side by side with the other USB brands in our review, the HP flash drive’s speed pales in comparison.
It’s also only compatible with Windows and MacOS, so if you’re a programmer on Linux, you won’t be able to use this HP flash drive.

Toshiba is a major player in Japanese manufacturing of electronic devices and computer-related products. Their flash drives are known to be compactly built and of high-quality for consumers.
Toshiba Transmemory and Hayabusa are among its most popular USB flash drive models. In our opinion, the Hayabusa in particular would prove to be one of the perfect flash drives for students to carry around because of its design.
This particular model from Toshiba has a compact design with a small clip where you can attach it to a keychain or ID lace. The Hayabusa USBs also come in pretty, eye-catching colors like blue, orange, white, and light blue.
Design specifics aside, the Toshiba brand carries the best-performing USB 2.0 flash drive that we know of. It can perform high-speed data transmission for USB 2.0 ports on any PC or laptop.
The Toshiba USBs come in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacity. They also have USB 3.0 and OTG drives in its arsenal.
Toshiba USBs have a hot plug and unplug feature, which means it can be immediately detected by the computer for ease of file transfer.
It’s also compatible with various operating systems, so whether you’re a Windows or MacOS user, you’ll be covered by Toshiba.
Based on our experience, Toshiba USBs have generally slow writing speeds. They also have limited storage capacity options compared to other brands, like the lack of a 1TB USB.
