- TV Channels are available in HD
- Videoke-ready
Cons
- No LAN cable included
- Expensive
If you’re looking for a prepaid WiFi for family use, the Globe Streamwatch Xtreme Prepaid WiFi is your best bet.
With this prepaid WiFi, streaming is made easy because it connects easily to local HD channels. We like that it is also a router that can also be a substitute for TV boxes like TV plus and GMA Affordabox.
It can be used as a karaoke machine as well. We like that it has two MIC-in connections in its front panel, which are suitable for a duet.
Additionally, this includes an integrated Chromecast feature that enables you to connect your smartphone to the Streamwatch Xtreme device.
Overall, we consider this a good investment for family entertainment because you can stream films and movies from different apps like YouTube. The amazing thing about Xtreme Prepaid WiFi is that it offers cheap promos too.
On top of data promos, you can add GoWatch promos for as low as Php 29. With that 2GB GoWatch promo, you can stream for up to 5 hours of iWant TFC, Viu, One, Youtube, Netflix, or NBA.
However, if you want to connect your computer to the router, it may be challenging. Since a LAN cable is not included in the package, you may need to purchase one.
Considering this, if you have extra to spare, we still think that Globe Streamwatch Xtreme Prepaid WiFi is worth it. This is because it functions as a Digital TV receiver, smart Android TV box, karaoke, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi router.

Pros
- Affordable
- Ready for external antenna
- Can reach up to speeds of 150 mb/s (upload) and 50 mb/s (download)
- Lightweight
Cons
- Can heat when continuously used
- Power cable is not USB
Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi (Model no. B312-939) is the most affordable prepaid WiFi that Globe offers.
Based on our assessment, it is a dependable home Internet connection, fit to be used for work, study, or fun. It can also offer speeds of up to 150 mb/s so it can be a good fit for those who use the Internet casually.
Since Globe offers a Globe At Home App, you can easily monitor your Internet usage. You can also subscribe to different Internet promos with the app and pay for them online.
For us, the freebie that comes with this is already worth it because 50 GB costs Php 2,499 in their regular GoSurf promos. You can share that 50 GB for up to 6 devices so it’s a good buy for families.
In terms of design, it has a simple boxy body that is compatible with external antennas. For instances that you can’t get a good signal in your area, you can attach antennas for improved connection.
We also like that it is lightweight so it’s perfect for frequent travelers. However, you may need to purchase a USB cable compatible with this router as its power cable can’t be connected to power banks.
Another concern that we encountered with this prepaid WiFi is that it can heat up when used for hours. Because of this, we recommend that you turn it off if not used to avoid overheating.

Pros
- Can connect for up to 10 devices
- Offers unlimited data options
- Has 4 LAN ports
Cons
- No included external antenna
- Power cable can’t be connected to USB
If you’re looking for a prepaid WiFi that can connect a lot of devices, we recommend SMART Prepaid Home Wifi LTE (Greenpacket-D2).
It can connect up to 10 devices and even offer promos with unlimited data options. For only Php 599 a month, you can already surf without data restrictions so it’s perfect for family use.
Unli Data 999 can also be an upgrade for those who want ultra HD and quality videos for up to 1080p.
We also like that the modem has 4 LAN ports so you can connect multiple computers, servers, consoles, and other devices at once. This is ideal for those who have multiple devices that can’t be connected to wireless Internet.
However, we’re disappointed that the modem doesn’t come with external antennas. Without it, you may need to purchase additional antennas so you can get stronger signal.
Also, we didn’t like that it doesn’t come with a USB power cable. Hence, you will need to buy one if you will bring this with you outside.
Above all else, we think that SMART Prepaid Home Wifi LTE (Greenpacket-D2) is a good upgrade for those stuck with modems that can only connect a few devices.

Pros
- Cheapest prepaid WiFi on this list
- Lightweight
Cons
- Has only 1 LAN port
- Only connects up to 5 devices
If you have a limited budget, the SMART Prepaid Home Wifi LTE (Boosteven-R51) is a good option.
For only Php 495, you can already connect to the Internet that reaches up to 100 mb/s. For those who need backup WiFi, we highly recommend this because it is a cheaper alternative than other prepaid WiFi in the market.
Because of its price, we think that it’s fit for those who are relying on prepaid data and don’t want to drain the batteries of their devices.
It is also a good choice for renters who don’t want to invest in high-end modems.
With its design, we admire that despite being boxy, it is lightweight and thin. So, we think that it’s best for those who travel a lot.
If you need LAN ports, however, you may find using this challenging because it only has one. Because of this, we don’t recommend this for people who have multiple devices that connect only to LAN.
Additionally, we didn’t like that it can only connect up to 5 devices. Thus, subscribing to unlimited data may not be worth it unless it’s for personal use.
All in all, with its cheap price tag, we think that SMART Prepaid Home Wifi LTE (Boosteven-R51) is worth checking out.

Pros
- Comes with a 3000 mAh battery
- Travel-friendly
- Has an LED screen
Cons
- Prone to overheating
- Cannot connect to LAN-requiring devices
If you want a battery-powered prepaid WiFi, we highly suggest the SMART Bro Prepaid LTE-A Pocket WiFi Advanced (Evoluzn-PR4L).
It contains a 3000 mAh battery that provides a 15-hour maximum runtime on a single charge. This makes it an all-around prepaid WiFi that can be carried anywhere without an external power source.
For its design, we like that it has an LED screen that can show you different WiFi details. If you forget your WiFi password, you can easily access it through the screen.
Compared to its predecessors, we like that it utilizes carrier aggregation technology. This increases the theoretical speed limit from the previous 42 mb/s to 100 mb/s.
We’re also surprised that it is compatible with 5G. With this, you can experience a fast and reliable Internet connection when you’re in 5G-available areas.
One concern, however, is that the device itself is prone to overheating. Because of this, you cannot use it when charging because it can drain the battery.
Additionally, you cannot connect LAN cables to it because it doesn’t have extra ports aside from the type-C charging port that it has.
Overall, we like the flexibility of this prepaid pocket WiFi because it is a good alternative when there is no power source available. Because of this, we recommend this for people who need to have a reliable backup in case of power outages.
